Matt Byrnes, Rowan University

Byrnes earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after leading the Profs to an 85-79 non-conference victory over Immaculata in their only contest of the week. In the win, he notched a game-high 30 points on 11-17 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 shooting from the free throw line. He also added two rebounds, two steals, and one assist in the Profs sixth consecutive win. Byrnes currently leads the NJAC in scoring with an average of 27.4 points per game.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Gabriel Paul, William Paterson University

Hillside, NJ/Hillside

Paul earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after helping to lead the Pioneers to a 67-49 non-conference win over Lehman in their only contest of the week. In the victory, he posted a game-high 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 shooting from the free throw line. He also added five rebounds, two assists, and one steal in William Paterson’s eighth consecutive victory. Paul currently ranks 26th in the NJAC in scoring with an average of 8.6 points per game.
